There is hereby established the Massachusetts Servicemember Post-Deployment Council to make recommendations regarding the implementation of a program in the commonwealth to support service members transitioning to civilian life after deployment. The council shall submit its findings and recommendations, including a detailed re-entry program plan relative to servicemembers who return to civilian life after deployment, together with recommendations for legislation to carry out those recommendations by filing the same with house and senate clerks, the house and senate committee on ways and means, the joint committee on veterans and federal affairs and the joint committee on mental health and substance abuse on or before September 15, 2015Seat Restrictions
The term of office for each appointed member shall be 2 years, or until a successor if appointed in the case of a vacancy. The council shall, at its first organizational meeting, elect a member to serve as chairperson for a 2-year term. The council shall also elect a vice-chairperson for a 2-year term and a cleark for a 2-year term.Compensation
